Hey family!
this week was great. So had a lesson with this guy named william that we found on the street the week before. It was such a great lesson. He told us that he was going to came to church yesterday but didn't. :( but at church yesterday, we got a referral from Jackie, the referral! haha her and her family have been taught by the missionaries before, and three weeks ago they just decided to come back to church. the english elders have been teaching the 11 year son, but jackie wants to be taught in spanish so she can understand better. so we are pretty excited about them :)
We walked a lot this week... like always :) but it was good cause we found Carmen that way. we met her on the street cause she heard us speaking spanish and wanted to know where we were from because we are white! haha it was way funny. but come to find out, her daughter is a member of the church and is serving a mission. we are meeting with her tonight, so say a prayer for her.
We also met with the hno marroquin this week and he is... progressing. I just don't know what to do with him. but I love him and the whole family so much! they took us out to an el slavador restaurant and we got papusas. they were way good. and then yesterday, he texted us and said he has a surprise for us next sunday, and we can't tell his wife that he said anything to us. So we have no idea what it's going to be. I hope it's a party to tell us that he's decided to get baptized. but we'll see. so i'll let you know what it is next week.
thats all I got this for week. I started doing video journals, so i'll send home my SD card soon cause it's to big to e-mail.
But ya love ya tons. Miss you all a lot. I hope everything is going great :) love you

Hello everyone.
Ok so this week was much better than last week. Im more used to my area now and im starting to love it. It is so different from lynwood tho. I don't feel safe being out on the streets at night.. it's pretty scary. But the lord is watchign over us.
So this week I was totally sick. It was not fun. But I feel a lot better today, I got a blessing yestersday from our zone leaders elder depollo and elder reeves.
As far as lessons... We are teaching this one guy named Avid. He's a little crazy. He says he found christ three years and was reborn. so he changed his name to avid, and says he's three years old in christ. he has long long hair and a handle bar mustach. and he paints all his clothes with this really bright paint. hes a little different. and at first we thought he was just going to be one of those "I like to talk about jesus" guys, but this last week we had him come to the preach my gospel class that the ZL teach, and he said he leanred a lot and needed to go home and think about it. he's never like that. so hopefull when we meet with him tomorrow he'll really want to learn more.
Another person we see all the time is Anna. She is a less active that reminds me so much of gary. same age and same type of story. She is incredible. She comes out to lessons with us and his really getting involved in missionary work. I love her so much. We had a really powerful lesson with her this week about the atonement and we were all crying. I feel like anna is one of the reasons I came her. I love her!
um.... The ward here is super functional, which is way different from my last area. so thats good :) and the zone is way smaller, but im learning to love it.
Me and sister oldham really do work great together and im so greatful that I've been able to work with her again.
that's all I can think of right now. Sorry this is a lame letter :) I'll do better next week.
Love you all so much. Thankyou for the love and support. Love you.
Kiera
p.s. the living situation is getting better. It is still not my favorite, but it's better now :)

                                                                         Martha

Ok so my new area..... Is so not lynwood. It is right up by the hollywood sign. And I don't know if i've ever seen so many... interesting people.
Our zone is super small, and I am living with another set of sisters... lets just say it's not my favorite thing in the world.
Our area is really small too, and we only have three members in our area. there are 5 sets of missionaries to one word, so it's a little difficult. But me and sister oldham have some great ideas and we are ready to work hard.
It's been hard to transfer, harder than I thought it would be. but it's been a huge blessing to have sister oldham and elder reeves, he was my district leader in lynwood and now is my zone leader here :) he's incredible!
So this is going to be a struggle but it will be ok. We are walking every where right now casue I haven't gotten a bike yet. We have some pretty sketch places here that we stay away from. There is this old persons home that literally looks like the tower of terror! im pretty sure thats where disneyworld got the idea from. it's such a scary place.
But the members here are super great. We've already had two family home evenings with investigators and another one tonight! that wouldn't have happened in lynwood :)
I miss martha so much! we went and said goodbye to her and she just started crying. It was so sad. I will always love her, adn she said we will always be her missionaries and that we have to come back when she get's baptized and when we get married so she can meet our husbands. haha she's great, im going to try and write her and stay in touch.
So ya that's what's going on here.Hope you all had fun in your travels. And Wilson.... I love you :) sorry about the accident.
anyways, please keep praying for me. Avery, this would be a good time to pray for me to be nice... i'm going to need it :)
Love you all so much!

Hello everyone.
Ok so I am being transfered! I am going up to Griffeth Zone up in hollywood. My area is called sunset. It's a spanish area (thank heavens) and guess who my companion is...... Hermana Oldham!!! Haha I couldn't believe it. And guess what else... we are on bikes! so I will be buying one of those tomrrow, so don't send one :) Sister Blair is also leaving, so our area is getting whitewashed! way crazy.  So ya that's what's happening.
In the area this last week it was rough. We lost a lot of investigators and nothing else seemed to be going through. And now i'm leaving. I hope whoever come in will just what lynwood needs.
I am so sad to be leaving gary! I will miss him so much.
And Martha. We went over and helped her in her back yard yesterday. I never thought I would love someone like I love her. She is incredible. I know she will get baptized, it's just a question of when. :)
Um other than that It was pretty much just working with members which is the best way to do the work!
Oh I am also super sad to leave my district here in lynwood. But four of six of us are leaving! that is a lot of change. President Weidman definatley has his one ideas. The whole mission got changed around!! So we'll see what happens with it. :)
I hope you are all having fun with the family. Give them my love.
Thank you for all the love and support. I miss you all so much.
Love, kiera

July 2013

Well another week in Sunny Caifornia. It was SO hot this week! I would just be sitting in lessons and be dripping sweat. It's because it's so humid here, so you walk outside and you immediatley get moist. it's gross.
Martha has been sick this week so we haven't met with her, but she came to church yesterday :) I love her so much.
Gary I doing great, He's the highlight of our week, and he trying to get ready to go to the temple! He's awesome.
We had to drop one of our investigators cause he's not doing anything we ask him to. But we met Jose this week and he reminds me a lot of Grandpa Wilson. He wears jeans and cowboy boots and button up shirts, and he smells liek grandpa too. It was a weird little flash back.
Some other real crazy/sad stuff happened this week, but ask dad if you want to know. I dont' want to type it again.
And then yesterday, guess what I got to do! I got to speak in sacrament! haha it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. And after everyone said they could understand me and I used right grammer. Then all the missionaries in the ward sang. So it was good, and a little scary :)
Well I can't think of anything else. But I love you all so much and miss you like crazy! Oh and just so ya know, I won't be e-mailing til tuesday next week because it's transfer week :) Can you believe i've already been gone for four months!! Crazy! love you
